Exhaustion in first trimester

Anyone else feeling extremely fatigued in the first trimester? This is my third pregnancy and never had any symptoms with the first 2 apart from heartburn. This time around I am constantly tired and feeling spaced out. By the time I get home from work I have to lie down and have a sleep and feel no more refreshed in the morning. Normal daily tasks seem like such an effort.

I'm with you!

Every time I sit down I fall asleep, I can't remember the last time I stayed awake past 9pm and that's not like me at all. Everything seems such an effort atm, doesn't help that I work over 40 hours a week but when I have a day off I spend the whole day in bed because I don't have the energy to do anything!

Roll on second trimester 😄

Totally normal! Many women find this. This is my third pregnancy and each time I have just wanted to sleep away the first few months.

Third pregnancy here also, and just this week (13w) have I started to feel a bit more normal, the exhaustion was awful before. No words of advice but it does get better

Not that I want to wish time away but I'm looking forward to the second trimester where I can get more done. I had a day off today and I have slept for most of it.

First time pregnant, was thinking it was just me who was feeling wiped out all the time until I saw this thread! Not working today and have spent the whole day in bed. Had to fly to Hong Kong and back over the weekend for a family funeral and think that took more out of me that I'd thought it would (day flight out Friday - funeral events Saturday and Sunday - overnight flight Monday night). Seriously considering asking to reduce my work from 4 days a week to 3 but worried people will think I'm a wuss.

I’m preggers with first and first trimester was awful. I usually am awake at 5-6am at the latest but couldn’t wake up till 8am and got back in bed around 11 till around 4 and then 7 through the night. Was a struggle as I’m self employed but I don’t know how women do it working out of the house full time. Kudos! Never felt like that before. Thought something was wrong with me. In second trimester now and feeling so much more like myself at the moment. I feel you 🙏🏾

My husband was worried there was something wrong with me when i was in my first trimester! I slept on the bus in to work, I grabbed a 20 minute power nap at lunch time, I slept on the bus home, I stayed awake long enough to eat something and was in bed by 8pm sleeping 10 hours straight! I felt like I'd been hit by a bus I was just exhausted! It did get a lot better a few months in (now I'm just exhausted because DS is a toddler and likes to wake us up in the night for a chat !)
