14/15 weeks 🤔

Hey everybody!

New to the board although been lurking for a while :)

Just wondered really what people’s experiance was like around 14/15 week mark?

It’s baby number 1 which was totally unplanned and unexpected and I think I’ve gotten my head around it now. What a rollercoaster few months. Never wanna go through that again!

So far the first trimester was super nausea and tired sore boobs etc. The first scan went well and just waiting on results from the bloods etc for few things we tested for. Haven’t heard back yet or any phone calls so i’m guessing there’s not been anything major found. They were happy with size of baby etc on scan.

Due the 16 week appointment next week - what do they normally do on that one?

The nausea has seem to reduced a lot and I’ve got a lot of my energy back - I’m back to waking up super early again and even did some exercise yesterday - hurray! Manage to get back on to vegetables again too - noting too rich but at least healthier than first trimester.

Is it normal to not feel pregnant at week 14/15? I’ve read and heard second trimester is the best but would love to know from your experiences :)

No bump yet but I have big hips and ass so I’m not really expecting a bump to much later haha. Have been super gassy and bloated though - boo!

Anyway look forward to speaking to you all some more!

Congratulations! Happy to hear that your scan went well.

It depends on your area a little as to what will happen at your 16 week appointment. With DS1 I lived in an area where they listened to the heartbeat at 16 weeks. Now pregnant with DD and in a different area and they don't listen until 24 weeks, they just check in with you, check urine and blood pressure. Obviously it's your chance to discuss any concerns with them too.

As for not feeling pregnant, yes totally normal! The crappy first trimester didn't wear off for me until 21 weeks -.- but for a lot of women it's before that! Sometimes baby moves and I remember that I'm pregnant again because I feel so normal! Enjoy it while you can! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy Thanks

At my 16-week appointment they took urine sample and blood pressure. They don't listen to heartbeat till 24 weeks in my area. It was quite a quick appointment (but I have no risk factors and everything has been straightforward so far) compared to the first couple.

16 weeks was when I started to feel a lot better too and by 18 I was feeling great. Lots more energy, no nausea, and just generally feeling more like myself. I'm coming up for 21 weeks now and still feeling good.

Oooo thanks ladies!

At the moment it’s low risk pregnancy from the paperwork and scan that’s been done. I’ve not had the test results back yet for some tests but I haven’t heard from the hospital so I’m guessing that no news is good news. Will of course chase it up with midwife next week if they still don’t come through in mail by then!

I believe the next scan in this area is 20 weeks - to be honest I can’t believe it’s almost 16 weeks.

So glad you’re pregnancy is going well so far and you’re feeling much like yourself!

Do you ladies do any exercise / did excersise through our pregnancy? I’m finding it a little weird to adapt to the lower intensity stuff as I was doing hiit prior to faking pregnant, of course I’ve been listening to my body whilst doing cardio!

I actually went food shopping today after weeks! Little wins haha

I've just got back from my 16 week appointment. My midwife checked my blood pressure, urine and took some bloods ( they didn't put my NHS number on first lot) she then checked baby's heart beat.
After that she booked me in for the flu jab, whooping cough jab and my 28 week appointment.
Hope this is helpful xx

The 16 week appointment was the most useless last pregnancy so I skipped it this time!
