Last couple of days I’ve struggled with getting socks on, I’m 34 weeks in 2 days and the last couple of days especially when taken them off before bed l they have been really tight on my legs leaving marks (see pic) and excuse my chubby swollen leg. Doesn’t it mean u are dehydrated when this happens on ur legs? I don’t get it tho as I’m drinking water all the time. Since being pregnant I’ve worn more dresses and tights so not wearing socks often.

It’s just a bit of swelling. You have a lot of extra fluid in late pregnancy and it can pool in your feet and ankles by the end of the day, especially if it’s warm.

Nothing to worry about. Just put your feet up above your hips when you can. If swelling comes on very suddenly, however, get checked - it can be a sign of pre eclampsia.

Okies thank you :) my legs are like little trotters in the eve now so going to make sure I put them up in the eve for sure 😛

I started cutting the elastics on socks at about 30 weeks when I was pregnant with DC1 (13) and I haven't stopped doing it since. I can't bear the tightness now.

Perfectly normal. You should have seen the state of mine in late twin pregnancy - actually it was worse after my section, my knees were the size of my head for about 2 weeks, couldn’t bend them at all.

Elevating your legs and drinking lots of water helps

It doesn’t actually look too bad but swelling can be a sign of pre-eclampsia so if it gets worse or you have any other symptoms, speak to your midwife
