How often do you feel your baby at 23 weeks?

I'm 23 weeks and have only felt small kicks & movements for the past couple of weeks.
It's my first baby.

In the day I don't feel a thing, the only time I feel baby is at night laid in bed on my side.

Is this normal?

Hi yes this is normal
I am 32 weeks and still only feel the occassional movement. Baby is fine each time the midwife listens to heartbeat and when i have been for scans. I have been told by them a movement a day/night is fine

It was normal for me, I am now 25 weeks. I would feel baby everyday but some days only at night when lying down flat on back (side didn't work for me!). I would say from 23 weeks is when I started to feel day time kicks but even now there are some days where I feel more than other days. I have been told that baby still has lots of room to move at this point and can sometimes be kicking inwards instead of outwards which can change how much you feel

That was normal for me too. I’d only feel him between 7pm and 9pm. Nothing through the day. Now at 26 weeks I feel him constantly x

Night time was same for me. Only guaranteed time I'd feel movement. I'm 26 weeks now and first thing when I wake up and night times are a guarantee but in between is still unpredictable. If I'm working and moving round lots baby doesn't move much. We have the occasional day where there's a rave going on in my stomach, the last time the midwife listened for the heartbeat the baby full on kicked the doppler, and then a few days of quiet usually follow which makes me feel uneasy but I'm getting used to that now. You'll learn your pattern, and my midwife said for some people that pattern is still just no idea when baby will move x

All babies / pregnancies are different! I'm 23 weeks and feeling baby lots throughout the day and at night. I was the same with my first DC too IIRC. In terms of "counting the kicks" (which should start between 24-26 weeks I believe) what is important is changes to your baby's individual pattern, rather than how often you feel them.

Where's your placenta positioned? That can also make a difference to how often you will feel baby too.

Regardless, if you are ever worried about your baby just give you midwife a ring. Always the best course of action!
