ROCK HARD BUMP & PAINFUL MOVEMENTS

Hi - today I am 35+5 with my second boy. I am still working (PE Teacher) and due to break up in a week or so. Over the last few days my bump has become solid and extremely uncomfortable. It’s painful at times, a constant stretching feeling but very sore. Baby’s movements are very uncomfortable also. I am apparently measuring at the upper end of normal and I know he’s very long. I’ve been prescribed Dihydrocodeine but don’t like relying on it as baby can become addicted. Is this pain normal or should I contact my midwife? x

I always felt like this when dehydrated. Caused major braxton hicks.

I'd ask for another check to be on the safe side however.

My baby is measuring over the 90 per centile and feel exactly the same. I am 33 weeks and didn't have this with my previous two until my due date came and went. Only support I get is from a support band around my tummy xx

Im 37+1 and get this usually for an hour or so at a time. Saw my midwife today and she was quite shocked at how hard my bump was and said it almost felt like a contraction. At 35 weeks I was told I had an irritated Uterus which was resulting in 'practice contractions' not to be confused with BH and unfortunately this would carry on right the way through. Drinking cold water of all things seems to be a trigger for mine. If your worried I would contact MW just so they can check everything is ok with baby and put your mind at rest.
