Travelling for work

Hi all my first time posting on here! I am 30 weeks pregnant and currently working full time, I am due to begin maternity leave in 4 weeks time.

As part of my job I take a 60 mile round trip once a week and sometimes do additional trips i.e this week I am doing a 100 mile trip as well as my 60 trip the day before. I used to share the driving with another colleague but it looks like she will be off for the foreseeable future. As she is off, I am only the one doing my job which can make it quite stressful. I visit people in their homes as part of my job and it can be hard to fit in breaks as I don’t know how long I will be visiting clients.

The rest of the week I work in an office 5 mins away from my home which I don’t mind but I feel quite uncomfortable the days I am away as I am by myself. My work don’t have very good procedures in place to ensure I am safe while out and about such as phoning to check I am okay.

I also believe that my work has not done a risk assessment as I would have assumed they would have discussed this with me to include my opinions if they had done this?

Should I refuse to drive for work this far on in my pregnancy or is that being unreasonable?

Any advice greatly appreciated x

Your manager or HSE manager or HR should have done your risk assessment with you many weeks ago. I suggest you contact HR ASAP.
