Good morning all!
I am a newbie on here first pregnancy

I am just after some advise from anyone who has had previous pregnancies or in the same situation I am

I have a 12 week scan booked this week, when I sat with the midwife couple of weeks ago, I explained to her that there is an extra or missing chromosome which leads to slight autism, my gran is a carrier, as is my mum so no doubt I am... it only affects boys as my brother has the autism, I explained this to her and she said she is going to book me in for a chromosome appointment, so as well as a letter for 12 week scan I also had another letter for an obstetrics appointment, does anyone know what happens at these? is it another scan? or is it to talk in more detail about the chromosome issue? just a little worried having two appointments around the same time what it could be about, my friend said to me its usually if you have bmi issue, previous issues with pregnancies, diabetes etc which doesn't affect me

thank you for any help/advice

It will be to talk to the doctor about your family history, they may then refer you/order testing. Essentially anything outside 'normal' gets referred to the doctor from the midwife for them to check and treat appropriately.
