My youngest is 18 , eldest 20 I'm 44 My partner has two younger teenagers,
We've never worried about contraception as he had an injury years ago and was told he'd technically had a vasectomy after they stitched him back up.
Sooooo I was 5 days late on Friday , had cramping rock hard sore boobs, headache slightly nauseous so did a test fully expecting it to say negative ( but you know just to be sure ) and it was big strong positive.
We are both in total shock !
I'm scared about my age and complications.. since Friday I've been bloated , tired sick emotional, back ache . Cramping is better now Saturday was all day.
I feel so happy I'd love to share a child with my partner . But my brain is going crazy I'm scared of everything bad that could happen to me and the baby because of my age , totally totally shocked I mean my kids are adults now
Due date is 28 May 2019 only me and partner know atm. He was absolutely floored as you can imagine . He's 45.
Ive booked next available doctors appointment a week tomorrow.
I hope everything will be ok!

Congratulations OP Thanks
Lots of women have babies in their 40's now. Yes there are the age related risks, but that's what they are, risks, and you'll have tests, if you want them, to rule them out.

Your dc's will be a massive help I'm sure. This will be a very cherished baby all round Smile

@KalindaBlack thank you , and yes I feel very blessed I wish there was an earlier appointment rather than next week I agree I will feel better once I've seen my doctor.. I actually still can't believe it . I'd love to tell family especially my eldest child but just can't I feel too worried something might go wrong

All totally normal feelings. You'll have to try distracting yourself. Your house will be sparkling by the time the appointment comes around Grin

Congratulations! Try not to let worry cloud your happiness and excitement. It’s a very special time.

Aww bless you. My mum had her youngest at 41. I was 20 and had my first 10 days later. Im sure they will absolutly dote on the baby as will his children.

Huge congratulations OP! I had my 2 DC at 39 and 42 and the pregnancies couldn’t have been smoother. Surprisingly I wasn’t even classed as “high risk” as it’s so common to have babies later in life now. Very exciting times for you, enjoy every moment :-)

Congratulations opFlowers

Same happened to me at 44. Ds was born shortly after my 45 birthday. My dp was 10 years older.

It took 3 months after test for me to not wake up and think “no, I must have dreamt it” but I was lucky, pregnancy was completely hassle free. I felt a bit tired but that was all.
Ds is now 10. No problem so far.
