Hi ladies,

I'm 36+2 pregnant and today I've had constant Braxton Hicks/contractions. Pretty painful in the lower of my stomach and sharp pains in my boohoo!!

Can this be a sign of something or Regular Braxton Hicks?

Thanks in advance x

Had the same at 36+4. Really sore. Kept me in hospital for 24h as they were worried it might be pre term labour. It wasn’t. Had a twingy couple of weeks but it all died down and I went a week overdue in the end. Was really irritating as I didn’t tge last few weeks if maternity thinking he was going to fly out at any second!

I suffered with Braxton Hicks and it meant my bump went really hard and uncomfortable.

I had contraction like pains Monday night. They carried on very irregular Tuesday and Wednesday. The labour ward told me I wasn’t in established labour but to go in due to reduced movements. Got there at 9:00 and DS was born at 2:23.

Maybe give the hospital a call?

Thorsmitress, were you in labour then or did they induce you due to reduce movements?

I was in labour. I was having very irregular contractions from Monday night. Period pains type pains and in the same place as you. They were so irregular that I was going hours with no pain. I called the labour ward and they told me that I had to wait until the pains were 5 minutes apart and lasting a minute. Because I hadn’t felt him move I was told to go in for monitoring. As soon as I was hooked up to the machine they were coming every 3 minutes. 5 hours and 23 minutes later DS was born!
