So this was on my 'what to expect app'...It says to watch out for 10 movements in 10 minutes, seems a bit excessive???

Yes definitely seems excessive. Tommy’s, who promote the ‘kicks count’ campaign, say its more about knowing your own baby’s individual pattern and reporting a reduction in normal movement for them. Compared to my first baby, this baby moves a lot less in general so I’d often not get 10 movements in 10 mins. And what about when they sleep? A bit daft.

Every baby is different. I have a very active baby and there are lots of points in the day where she wouldn’t move 10 times in 10 mins.

Mine is being very active right now, tends to move more at night just before bed. During the day it tends to be not long after I have had something to eat with the odd flutter in between times. At the end of the day, its what is a normal pattern for you.

How far along are you at the moment? I am 22wks and is my 2nd pregnancy

Way too excessive. The advice now is to watch out for a change in your baby’s pattern. For example, I know my baby is most active first thing in the morning and last thing at night and I’d definitely get ten+ movements in ten minutes during those periods. If that altered drastically, I’d be worried. But at this time I’m not at all concerned if I don’t even feel one kick.
