Hi everyone. I have recently found out I'm pregnant with baby no 3. I have a 5 year old and soon to be 4 year old. I have seen good deal on a 2017 Astra does anyone know if this would be suitable to have 3 car seats in the back? thankyou

Don't look for good deals. Go shopping for cars. Look at everything. Decide what will suit your needs. Then look for the deal on the car you have chosen.

You are going to need 3 seats in the back for quite some time, I would research as much as you can.

You really need a car with three full size seats in the back. Have a look at the Astra specs and see if it has this? There aren't a huge number of cars with three full size seats, so worth checking.

I pulled out at last minute of buying an Astra last week. It will only fit two car seat at the back as the middle seat isn’t a full seat. I also have a Toyota hybrid plug in and it only fits two car seats at the back as the middle seat again isn’t a full seat. As the PP mentioned you need to find a car which fits your need first then start from there. Oh I have a crossover Vauxhall which also only fits two car seat at the back. Same with the Corsa I have.

Join the Facebook group ‘car seat advice UK’ they have a list of cars you can fit 3 seats across. I don’t think you will get 3 in an Astra though and if you’re buying a new car, it’s worth getting one with 3 full seats.

You need three full size rear seats which an Astra doesn't have.

You will definitely struggle without one being in the front. We bought a Q7 with three full seats and I only just get two boosters and a CabrioFix in, the belts are a bitch to fasten though. You could get one of those three in one seats... I don’t know what they are called, but the unmumsy mum has one and they are probably really expensive.

Unfortunately no, the Astra does not fit 3 car seats across the back. Very few cars do, fewer than you would imagine. Even some huge cars like the BMW X5 are a squeeze.

There are very few cars that fit three across the back. We bought a Ford Galaxy for this reason and it has been fantastic. Not only for having three proper seats in the back but having two proper seats in the very back which are suitable for adults- very useful when taking additional children or adult ‘helpers’

No. It doesn't.
