Could this be labour?

Hey guys, haven't posted here before, I'm usually over in AIBU! I'm 8 days overdue with my first and having regular pains 1.30 mins apart, lasting between 30-40 seconds. Except there's barely any pain in my uterus- it all seems to be in my thighs and hips! There was a spot of blood when I wiped earlier but no show or anything, could it be labour?

I’m not there with my first yet but remember at my antenatal class the midwife said some ladies get all the labour pains in their thighs and none in their abdomen so it is a possibility! I’d give the hospital a ring just in case though - good luck ☺️

Regular pains, 3 in 10 mins. Yeah, call the hospital. Good luck! I love a labour thread

BetterEatCheese · 22/09/2018 08:28

Sounds like it! Good luck!

I can't call the hospital, my phone is broken and I got rid of the landline ages ago! I suppose I'm going to have to go in- I just hope they don't send me home!

I think they say if it's 3 pains in 10 minutes to call them, so I think if you can't call them you should go in and have them check you over. Good luck! Smile

I feel so un-ready, I have everything i need and it's all set up but I don't feel prepared to labour at all 😂 No getting out of it now, I suppose!

I don't think anyone ever feels properly ready! Especially with your first baby since you have no idea what to expect. Just remember you can do it & it's the last step to meeting your beautiful baby Smile

Katjolo · 22/09/2018 08:48

Best of luck OP

kezzy13 · 22/09/2018 08:49

Yes! All my labour pains were in my thighs. Good luck and hopefully you'll have baby in your arms by the end of the day x

Also might be worth getting a cheap pay as you go phone. It's important to be able to call for help if you need it. Obviously after going to the hospital.

JillianHoltzmann · 22/09/2018 14:05

They sent me home, I contacted my mum who is now staying with me and handily, has a phone!

How are you getting on OP? Hopefully having snuggly baby cuddles by now

JillianHoltzmann · 26/09/2018 00:45

Baby born yesterday morning at 11:15, after a series of unfortunate events! All worth it though to see her little face! I don't think I'll do it again though. Thanks all for your help
