39+3 and couldn’t sleep early this morning from 5 am on with some period like pains sort of a dull ache rather than actually coming and going. Very mild though. Then went away until about an hour ago and have been noticing the very occasional worsening but still very mild. Also have very sharp shooting pains in vagina all day! Could this be the start of things or all very normal for this stage? So impatient and ready for baby!!

Sounds like it!

But this bit is unpredictable. Could come and go for a while yet, or ramp up fairly quickly I guess?

Have you downloaded a contraction timer app?

Any other signs?

That’s how one of my labours started.

Nothing else at all! Every time I go to the loo I’m hoping for a big gush or something but nothing. I’ll keep an eye on things and see if it changes - weird that I’m hoping for pains to get worse but the things you wish for at this stage in pregnancy!!

Ooh, I hope this turns into a live birth thread. Good luck Alicia!

How exciting that would be! The cramps are definitely constant rather than coming like tightening on and off which is a bit annoying - nothing to really time that i can particularly notice. More like dull aching. Will just bounce away on my ball and keep things crossed!

Sounds very similar to how mine started!

Sorry, got distracted by DD and posted too soon. Meant to say, good luck!

LondonLassInTheCountry · 21/09/2018 18:50

Ooooh possibly :)

'The big gush' is usually reserved for tv & Hollywood. Smile

iklboo · 21/09/2018 19:06

Sorry! Posted too soon. Good luck OP Thanks

Good luck OP. I would advise eating a decent meal now and getting as much rest as you can. If things do ramp up you'll need the energy. Good luck!

My labour started like this , I woke up and for a split second thought ffs , all I need is a blinkin period - then it dawned on me it could be labour . I went to the loo and my waters went ( with a big gush) I could see the plug as well ( eeeew) .

Hope all goes well Op , how exciting for you X
