Feeling down about feeling down in first trimester

Ever since I did the pregnancy test I have been feeling sick all the time, can’t stand smells of cooking or poo(!) and totally exhausted. No energy to play with my little one or be even slightly affectionate to my husband. He’s doing everything and I feel useless. Nappy changes of my toddler make me gag and the house is a heap with jobs piling up. But I want a baby and should feel bless and happy right?! This adds to my self loathing. Scan isn’t til I’m week 14 which feels like forever (currently ten weeks)

I was a miserable cow in the first trimester!! I’ve spent my whole life wanting to be a mother, so of course I should have been over the moon, but to be honest it was the most depressed I had been in a long time. Hormones don’t help! But just hang on in there, it does get better!!

I'm 8 weeks and feeling the same. DH is doing a lot around the house and taking the toddler when in from work but there's still lots to be done and I barely have the energy or inclination to get dressed for the day! Just exhausted. Felt similar when pregnant with DS but didn't have a kid to look after so it was ok to chill as much as I wanted really.

Here with you in solidarity!

Just nice to moan to people who understand. My husband just tells me to stop worrying cos I’m growing our child but that increases my guilt- he’s so exhausted from doing everything I normally do and the little ones bath and bed every night too! Legend
