I am now 17 weeks+2 and I am so tired! I am struggling to get through my work and having 10 hours sleep a night yet I am still so tired!!!
It is so frustrating as I am normally up and about but now I am struggling to even find the energy to go for a long walk, go shopping etc.
Does anyone else have this or have any tips?! In my 1st trimester everyone said I would get my energy back in the 2nd... am still waiting....

Sorry for the moan!!! Just having one of those extra sleepy days!!

I start the 3rd trimester next week and this 2nd trimester energy has completely passed me by.

I could honestly go to sleep right now!

Merrz · 20/09/2018 15:30

ells20 I was the same and still being sick up until 18/19 weeks then turned a corner, 22+6 now and feel great. Hopefully you don't have much longer of feeling rubbish Flowers

22 today and still feel exhausted. Keeping my sugars up, hydrating and resting whenever I can even it that means sitting down to do stuff that I'd usually do on the go or stood up. Best of luck!

Gobletoffire · 20/09/2018 16:43

I’m 14 weeks and would also like to know the answer to this Grin

I had very little symptoms up until around weeks 10-11, thought I was one of the lucky ones and them boom, the nausea and exhaustion kicked in and hasn’t stopped since. Everyone kept saying at week 12 that I was nearing the second trimester and would soon feel fab but it hasn’t happened yet. I’m exhausted!

Nothisispatrick · 20/09/2018 16:59

Have you had your iron checked? I didn’t start feeling ‘2nd trimester’ until about 17 weeks when I started taking floradix each day. Felt pretty good until about 25 weeks then pelvic pain and discomfort kicked in. Now 37 weeks and willing this baby out!

But those 8 or so weeks were great! Felt like a normal person.

hiddeneverything · 20/09/2018 19:44

Its a myth

sexnotgender · 20/09/2018 19:45

I’m 22 weeks and have yet to glow as promised! I feel short changed Envy

More2Fly · 20/09/2018 19:48

It didn't for me. Sorry!

ells20 · 20/09/2018 19:57

Well I am glad I am not the only one as I feel short changed - I was expecting this glow and burst of energy!!

Thank you for all your replies, I think I will be heading to bed shortly Grin

31 weeks and the magic lightbulb moment where I can take on the world has never materialised. Sorry!

Sandstormbrewing · 20/09/2018 22:42

Yeah, glow, energy all that jazz, just a myth to get you through the 1st trimester!

katie23913 · 21/09/2018 06:22

I started feeling a bit better by around 17 weeks (now 20 weeks + 5) but by no means do I have loads of energy. I just don't fall asleep on the couch as soon as I have eaten my tea. I manage to stay up until around 9pm which is pretty late for me haha I think it is our bodies way of getting us used being so tired when the babies are here

OutPinked · 21/09/2018 10:37

I’m almost 34 weeks and still waiting for the random spurt of energy to happen- think I’ve missed the boat at this stage Grin.

MrsXx4 · 21/09/2018 10:44

I'm just into the 3rd trimester and my energy never came!! in fact I felt worse all through the 2nd trimester. I had no symptoms at all until I got to 9 weeks pregnant and then had a little evening sickness, nausea and struggled with having an appetite. About week 16 I started having hormonal migraines, sickness and uncontrollable hunger! plus the tiredness and lack of energy was something I was not prepared for, I felt horrendous!

Now I am into the 3rd trimester and I am having the worst back and rib pain, I am unable to sit on the sofa even! I just stand in my lounge to watch tv and walk up and down trying to relieve some pain! I am still working full time 6 days a week and long hours but it is a struggle to say the least!

ells20 · 21/09/2018 11:44

Ahhhh sounds like we are all shattered!! I am actually going to try and take iron tablets for the rest of the week just to see if it helps - I really hate taking them but I will try anything at this stage!!

I just don't want to seem like I'm always using the excuse of I'm pregnant and so tried for things - know that probably sounds silly but hopefully you know what I mean!! I am genuinely exhausted 🙈😂

26 weeks and still waiting...

Autumnfairy82 · 21/09/2018 11:58

The energy never arrived for me. I just embraced the naps.

problembottom · 21/09/2018 14:16

I'm 26 weeks so nearly in the third trimester and the energy never came either. Got so sick of everyone telling me how great I was going to feel when I feel permanently shattered.
