Wondering if anyone experiences the same - I am 5 weeks. I take pregnacare. It really enhances my mild nausea to the stage of dry wretching. Does it make any one else feel worse 😥😥

Hey I'm 36+1 I took some pregnacare but I mostly took folic acid every day the ones from boots. They were great and actually stopped my nausea. I think I was sick 2 times in this pregnancy because I take the folic acid Smile good luck my dear x

Hiya! I am 17 weeks+2 and in early pregnancy I started taking pregnacare and it make me so bloated, unable to go to loo etc so I stopped.
I spoke to midwife and it wasn't an issue at all as long as I take vit D and folic acid which is what I do now.
I was worried about stopping it at first but then I felt so much better and just getting as much vits from my food as I can!

Try taking them after your evening meal instead of in the mornings. I found that helped!

Sandstormbrewing · 20/09/2018 18:59

Stop taking it and just get a folic acid tablet from the supermarket. You don't need them and they make you feel sick. If you are actually being sick, you are probably throwing it up anyway.

NewNameDueToMyIdiocy · 20/09/2018 19:25

Pregnacare make me want to throw up! I forgot and bought some a couple of weeks ago and... yep... felt awful.

I just take Boots folic acid and vitamin D combined tablets (designed for pregnancy) as that's all that you are advised to to take by NHS and I personally think Pregnacare are overpriced/unnecessary.

Mammabie · 21/09/2018 07:44

I think it’s the size of the tablet as I experienced the same thing when I used to take a normal women’s multivitamin. My GP recommended Pregnacare. I now take mine in the evening and don’t have any more nausea

If it's your body having trouble with the tablet, Pregnacare also do liquid vitamins :)

Sunshinegirl82 · 21/09/2018 08:53

I found seven seas much better than pregnacare, no weird after taste. I also took them at night rather than in the morning, if you can't face either just stick with the folic acid/vit D.

paddythecat · 23/09/2018 17:31

I felt exactly the same with the Pregnacare tablet so bought the Pregnacare liquid medicine. I take with my evening meal and the sickness cleared up almost right away

coffeekittens · 23/09/2018 17:58

I couldn't take pregnacare it made me sick until the acid in my stomach came up. I could only take severn seas or super market own. I hope you find something soon, if not ask for the healthy start vitamins available form some pharmacies for £1

Milligan123 · 23/09/2018 21:09

Yep me too! I take the boots own version of pregnicare and made me really nauseous/sick, I now take them after my evening meal and its made a real difference xx

owl89 · 23/09/2018 21:59

Pregnacare made me horrendously sick. Boots made me sick. I think it was Tescos own brand pregnancy vitamins I could just about cope with. Never take on an empty stomach Smile

basilsenia · 23/09/2018 22:01

Thanks for all the replies! I have started taking it after my dinner and it's a much better!!
