Hi everyone, I conceived approx 3 weeks ago..managed to conceive at the end of my period (was the only day I had intercourse). Tested positive exactly 2 weeks after (Mon 10th sept). Had some very light brown spotting/cramping last week. HCG on monday was 150., No further bleeding but slight period like pains occasionally. I know it is really the second beta that will determine what is going on (will get that tomorrow as was unable to go today), however could such a low reading be indicative of etopic? Of course Im aware miscarriage is also a possibility but an etopic seems so much more awful. Im praying that this is just a normal pregnancy but the last time I conceived my levels was 12000 around this stage

Assuming your period started on the 24th (just making a guess here as you haven’t said), that would put you at 3+5. Obviously, adjust for whatever is actually correct, I just mention if for comparison...

I had bleeding at 4+4 and my hcg was 97, rising to 254 at 4+6. I’m now 13 weeks, just had my first scan and all good so far. My dates according to scan are exactly on, it wasn’t earlier than I thought or anything, I just had pretty low levels at that stage.

I hadnt even got a positive at the stage you’re at, so really do try not to read too much into the levels just yet.

Hello
I'm 4+3, at 4+1 I was sent to hospital for investigations due to pain in one side, (suspected ectopic) and my hcg was 193, I go back today to get another blood draw today to see if they have doubled.. I have read online a lot about it only being weather it doubles that counts, u can have levels as low as 15 at 5 weeks and it still be ok, this is what the midwife tell me it's not the number that matters but the increase. Hope it all goes ok for you! Keep us updated

It’s impossible to say without knowing the second result, sorry. A low hCG on its own does not suggest an ectopic pregnancy and is more likely to be either an early pregnancy or a miscarriage. Ectopic pregnancy is suspected when the hCG level is increasing but only by small amounts but some normal pregnancies do this too so even if you have that it’s not a definite sign of ectopic.

Fingers crossed for you OP.

It could have been anything up to 10 days after intercourse that implantation occurred so you may not be quite as far gone as you're working out. Either way, as others said it's unfortunately impossible to say what's happening without a second level. I did once hear though that it's less the number they look for and more the doubling. Apparently the range of normal is quite vast so they monitor it based on how your levels are rising rather than the number itself.

Best of luck Thanks
