Academy teachers- what maternity package did you/will you get?

I can't find any information from my schools policies for love nor money. I am not in a position to ask a colleague for fear of raising eyebrows!
I'm a career changer and have only been teaching for 3 years, though I'm desperate for a family. I started at this academy in September (3 weeks ago!) after working in a LA school.

What packages did you receive please? I'd like to start ttc asap.

It's awful you can't access your policy! I presume you've done a search of the shared area and looked through the staff handbook? (Sorry if that comes across as patronising!). I'm in an independent school so probably no help to you...

If you were in my academy you wouldn’t be eligible for enhanced maternity pay until you’d worked there for a year.

Honestly, it’s no good asking us. Academies can set their own policies so it could be anything. I got the same maternity pay and conditions as the Burgandy book sets out but that’s not a given.

Surreygirl1987 yes I've hunted through the entire portal but to no avail. Seems like everything is on there apart from maternity and sickness leave!
Potteringalong I know that they can set their own rules and conditions but I'm swaying to believe they follow the burgundy book (based on other policies in place). I just wanted to know the range of packages on offer at other academy schools that do not uphold the burgundy book recommendations.

Every school I’m aware of (and most of my female teaching friends have had kids in the last five years and compared notes on policies) honours the burgundy book as the very minimum. Some are a bit more generous. Some have a few tweaks - one friend’s school pays a lump sum of the enhanced mat pay after the parent has returned for the mandatory 13 weeks.

Thanksithaspockets thank you! That's reassuring to hear. That would be a struggle during the maternity time but would be a lovely settled back into work treat. I'm a big believer in having a family when the time is right, instead of thinking the grass might be greener if I wait for x,y or z reasons (in this case, the pay!).
