High BMI, scared of dying during birth

I can't seem to shake this depressing thought of thinking either myself of my baby will die during birth. I have a high BMI, no diagnosed issues such as GD or Pre eclampsia, but I love read so many things about having a high BMI and being increased risk of this or that during birth, it's ruining my pregnancy and I feel so sad at this thought. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yep...I get it, and I'm only 11 weeks :( Feel so guilty for not losing weight before getting pregnant and am terrified its going to put me or my baby or both in serious harm. Fully understand you but I dont know how to help, just try and remember that even though the risks are higher, the vast majority of overweight/obese women sail through and have a normal birth and beautiful healthy baby. xxx

Hi. I have a high bmi too (39) and never really thought i might die during birth. How far along along are you? I am 29+5. I would mention your worries at your next midwife appointment, i'm sure she'd be able to give some advice and reassurance
