Clearblue 'how many weeks' confusion

Hey everyone,

I really need some help!

After 11 long months of ttc I was utterly thrilled to have got my BFP at 10dpo and it was a very clear result. Period was due on 13dpo but didn't come. Have done about 25 tests - all getting darker and all great!

However, Now I am 15DPO and did a clearblue 'how many weeks' and it says 3+ which equates to 5 weeks pregnant? I don't see how my dates can be confused as I was using OPK and waiting for ewcm so I'm 100% I ovulated when I thought I did, but the early test result and then this 5 week estimate are throwing me off? By my estimations I am only 4 weeks pregnant today? Help is there something wrong? Has anyone had similar? Thanks for helping xxxx

I would take those tests with a pinch of salt. I’ve had different results doing one after the other with a pregnancy that was completely healthy and resulted in my beautiful DD.

I would just take it as a positive result and discuss your dates with a midwife using the timeline you suspect. Congratulations and good luck!!

Thanks @BE18mum I didn't really imagine they could be wrong, I think I am literally going insane! Thanks for your help xx

Those tests are an approximation and not a science tool.

They're supposed to be a bit of fun thassal.

Maybe it's time to stop testing? Good luck with your pregnancy.

I didn’t either when I was in your position and I put a lot of stock into them so was getting worried but everything went fine 🙂

They test the hormones level and deduce how many weeks. Don't worry about the test as it said 3plus when I was in my first week

Thanks all x

Could be twins Wink congrats op

My pregnancy was adjusted to one week earlier than I thought at 12 week scan.

I think OV tests can be a bit out too.

buntingandstarcharts · 19/09/2018 21:48

@itisthattimeagain do twins increase hormones quicker? Good grief! 🤣

3+ is the highest they go.

I was a nigtmare for doing these tests they aren't always accurate. I remember being 3+ and then back down to 2-3 weeks. Drove myself mad. I'm 30 weeks now.
