Im in soooo much pain right now! I feel like my tooth has its own pulse.
Ive been to the dentist this morning hoping shed pull it out but she gave me antibiotics instead and said it needs to be less angry for her to pull.
So going back next week for that.
However paracetamol just aint cutting it in the pain releif deptartment Sad
Can I take/do anything else?
Id normally be drugged up to the eyeballs by now on codine or naproxen, or plain old ibruprofen. I feel like screaming

Ask the pharmacist if orajel would be safe? Hope it gets better soon.

Clove oil? It's nasty but works. Not sure on pregnancy though so please check

CobaltRose · 19/09/2018 17:32

Many women are prescribed codeine in pregnancy.

laylasmummy1 · 19/09/2018 17:45

the pain will subside after a couple of days of the antibiotics, continue with your paracetamol and apply a cold compress to the side of your face which is painful. try and get all three doses of antibiotics in today of you can. x x

Spent all of last night writhing around in agony, the pain just wont let up with paracetamol, ive tried clove oil and its making me actually be sick.
Ive got a frozen bag of soup held to my face but its not helping, my face has swelled up like the freaking elephant man.
Ive phoned in sick today but feel like an idiot, but ive had no sleep Sad

Did u put clove oil only on the tooth/ affected gum? Then u shouldn't be sick (pregnancy joys aside). Sorry you are feeling no better @captainshortie can you get codeine (I had it in labour)? I'd be sitting in docs until they do something, it's all right saying you can't have X y z but being in pain isn't going to help either.

If you can stomach it try again with the clove oil all you need is a little bit on a cotton bud even if you just get the tooth.

My dad swears by salt in hot water gargle but that's very vile!

captainshortie · 20/09/2018 14:15

Yeah tried the clove oil on both tooth and gum seperatly and then together, still making me sick :(
I asked the dentist today about codine and she said no?
Ill give the salt water a go x

I would ask the doctor for something stronger. The dentist might not know enough about stronger painkillers in pregnancy.

Trytowin · 20/09/2018 14:25

Yes docs not dentist. But advise docs you have already been to dentist etc etc so you don't get forwarded back to them. spell out what you need. (Safe painkillers in pregnancy) good luck!
