Stress during pregnancy and tips keeping calm

I’m 19 and a half weeks preg. Is everyday stress harmful to unborn child?

I think research is unclear as some suggest everyday stress is fine but others say it can cause harm.

I have a stressful job (lawyer) and feel a little bit behind due to not being on top form while pregnant generally. Was exhausted and nauseous during 1st tri and then after that I’ve has a couple of colds and stuff. Point is I have a lot to do and feel a bit stressed but manager has agreed not to give me more work unless I say ok, although I still get some work direct from client that I don’t feel I can say no to.

I’m also a little bit stressed by arguments with DH. I don’t think they’re major but he tends to stress about money and is also stressed about work and he can be difficult when he is stressed and just be argumentative and abrupt. He has been like that for the last few weeks, but every day, but more than I would like. Last night we argued and I was upset by it and went to bed upset and we argued a bit more this morning. He has said sorry and I appreciate it.

But the combination of a bit of stress at home and at work makes me worry about baby.

Any tips please?

Mean to say arguments with DH are not every day but it is a few times a week and I tend to get upset by it and then worry about being too stressed!

Baby will be totally fine. I had personal issues during my 1st pregnancy which caused tears stress and anxiety the whole way through. Baby was fine. Be that one less thing for you to worry about!

I'm in the same boat (nurse) and it's worse than normal with team sickness and a particularly tragic case. I'm sure hormones don't help. I guess I just have the usual tips about mindfulness, yoga, healthy lifestyle etc.
