Teacher - maternity pay?

Hi all, today I start maternity leave, and at my school we get 4 weeks full pay, 2 weeks 9/10 and 12 weeks half pay. My September salary is a mix of 1 week maternity plus the rest full salary, but I thought because the first four weeks are full pay I would take home the same? However my take home has dropped by £150. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't know whether it is right or not, I've heard from lots of colleagues they have always got matern ity pay wrong, but if this is normal then I don't want to complain?

You are paid for the previous month in teaching. You work a month before you are paid, so I would have expected this to be a full pay month. Just ring staffing and salaries at the LA or your school and ask.
