Spotting in early pregnancy

I’m 6 weeks and have had mostly brown spotting every day for 8 days. It’s there when I wipe and in my panty liner but not enough to soak through. No cramps and still experiencing pregnancy symptoms. Had an early scan 5 days ago and all was fine. Got another scan in about a week. Midwife said spotting is common in weeks 5-6 but didn’t know why mine was happening and said there is nothing that can be done to stop it. I’m not sure if mine is too much. If you have experienced spotting how many days did you have it? This is my first pregnancy and I’m finding the wait until the next scan really hard. I just want everything to be OK

Hi OP. Didn’t want to read and run. I had spotting which started at 7 weeks. It only lasted a few days and was only there when I wiped. It was either brown or pinkish in colour. Unfortunately some women can spot all the way through pregnancy especially in the early weeks. What were they able to see on the scan? If your midwife isn’t concerned then try not to worry, but if it gets heavier/redder/any clotting/strong cramps then I would contact your EPU and ask to be checked again x

Thanks @Gobletoffire. I didn’t look. I was so focused on what she was saying. Next time I will though. I will keep an eye on it - it seems to be staying the same. Got a GP appointment tomorrow so will mention it x
