Inconclusive scan at 5 + 3

Due to previous recurrent MC i was called into EPU for a scan this morning. By my LMP i am 5+3 today.

She couldn't see a sac which we would expect to see at this stage, she did see 2 tiny black dots which she said could be the beginning of a sac or could be nothing.

It's been termed as a pregnancy of unknown location and i have had my bloods done to monitor hcg and will go back thursday to see if they've increased as they should.

I am in limbo. I hate this. I had a MC in 2015 at 9 weeks and at 5+2 we could see a sac and pole.

I am wondering if we conceived later and maybe its too early? Or maybe i am going to miscarry YET again. Or perhaps it's ectopic. ARGH - i hate the waiting i just want to know whats happening :( :(

Just wanted to say I'm in a similar situation...had bloods done yesterday hcg 1540 but nothing seen on scan, just that my womb lining was thickened. Going back tomorrow for repeat bloods. Really trying to stay positive although had a misc only last month. Hope you're ok x

My bloods came back at 39 so looks like I’m out.

I know it's much easier said than done but try to stay positive. They develop so differently in the first trimester especially. They say for example that a heartbeat would be expected at 6 weeks gestation but I've seen countless posts on here where it hasn't been until 8 weeks (or what is supposedly 8 weeks, before a dating scan of course). There's a chance you're not as far gone as is thought. You could have ovulated later for example. The dates aren't set in stone until your dating scan.
