1 Positive test and 2 negative tests, on the implant

Hiya,

Thursday afternoon I took a pregnancy test (I don't know why, i just felt like i had to do one) After 5-10 minutes, a very very faint line appeared. It seemed to get darker each time i looked at it. It was very faint but i could still definitely see something there. I am on the Nexplanon implant so i know it is extremely unlikely for me to get pregnant, but im so confused.

I took another test Saturday afternoon and then Sunday morning and both were negative. Could it just have been a faulty test? Does having the implant affect pregnancy test results? I'm not sure whether to go to the doctors or just leave it as I have had 2 neg.

Any help would be great! thanks!

I fell pregnant on nexplanon, it's rare but it is possible. I'd had the implant for nearly 2 years so no where near needing to come out, no professionals knew why it had stopped working..it's very very very rare apparently but not unheard of

Waiting 5-10 minutes is too long, you need to follow the instructions on the pack.
It just sounds like an evaporation line and you're not pregnant

I followed the instructions on the pack and it says 10 minutes. I thought that was too long too but apparently not.

I would defo make an appointment with the gp to double check! I have read on so many threads about lots of people getting pregnant at the start and end of having the nexplanon implant! Doctors say it's impossible because it's 99% but it's becoming more and more popular now ladies getting pregnant on it. Your not losing anything by asking to be checked! I have also heard that it can change pregnant tests also- my friend had the implant and had it removed due to being 7 weeks pregnant and she had more than one negative pregnancy tests! Home and doctors! She now has a beautiful son! X

Chloekay3 - oh wow that's crazy! I phoned the doctors and they just said it was probably a false positive as i had 2 negatives afterwards..
They didn't say much at all to be honest! X

I know it's amazing! I couldn't believe it either when she told me, I'm sorry about what the doctor said... it can be a bit plop sometimes but try and stay positive

Chloekay3 You'd think it's almost impossible to become pregnant on the implant! To be fair i have heard of more and more people getting pregnant on the implant also.
Thank you :) It's such a mind fuck! I would love another baby now but my husband doesn't want to start trying until December, it's not far away but feels like forever for me! haha

My friend fell pregnant on the implant twice! After the first time she thought surely it wouldn't happen again! Unfortunately for her, both ended in miscarriage. I'd definitely get checked out because it's a definite possibility!

Have you tested again? Hcg doubles every 48 hours. So if you're pregnant and hcg isn't quite high enough to be detected on all tests, it's much more likely to be definitive 48 hours later.

beccii161016 - Oh no thats awful! :( the doctor said i'm probably not pregnant so i guess theres nothing else i can do apart from wait or do another test!

physicskate - No i haven't, the last time i did one was Sunday first thing in the morning and it was negative, the very very faint positive i had was Thursday afternoon so it's likely it was a faulty test as surely i would have had a stronger positive Sunday morning

Just did this test now, I can definitely see something very faint but i dont know if its an evap line or not

After almost a week you would have a blazing line by now if you were pregnant. Sometimes you can see indents on tests where the dye will settle for a positive.
