Anybody work as a cleaner? Thinking ofGoing back to work

I worked 16-18 hrs self employed as a cleaner up until 7 weeks I was fine then I suffered severe sickness. So I stopped working as I couldnt even get out of bed. But now I m approaching 17 weeks, DD has gone back to nursery I am feeling better, lacking in energy but probably down to diet I am still unable to eat big meals. But I am sat at home bored out of my head and wondering whether to go back to cleaning and whether or not anyone woukd actually employ a pregnant cleaner?! It concerns me lugging the hoover about up and down stairs, chemicals not so i have a special mask for that. I was thinking of just advertising for one off cleans so I didn't have the commitment to every week. We can manage without it, OH tells me to stay at home and just ya know be an incubator but I am going stir crazy. On the other hand, my belly is quite large even now and it's only going to get worse so I am thinking what if I cant manage? Is anyone working as a cleaner how are you finding it? I'm thinking doing one offs woukd be probably 2 - 3 hrs max rather then the 6 hour days I was doing! I just know if I had a cleaner and she was pregnant I would feel awful for making her do the cleaning but at the end of the day it would be handy to have some extra money!

Personally, if I was cooped up at home with not much to do, my mental health would really suffer. I had about 6 weeks off work with hyperemesis early in my pregnancy and was miserable. I also found the start of maternity leave, before baby was born (went off at 36 weeks as have quite a demanding job and he was born at 41) really tricky as I was lonely and bored.

If I were you, I would definitely consider doing something, even if it is just a few one off cleans or even some volunteering (dog walking for a rescue, charity shop?) if you’d be fine financially. You could always decline jobs you think would be too tricky - like if they have lots of stairs or something.

If it's just a few hours a day I can't see why not! I'd go mad not working! I've just finished teaching for mat leave at 38 weeks and am already going crazy! Ultimately it's up to you and how you feel regarding what/how much work you do.

I'm 31 weeks and working as a cleaner. I work in a bathroom and tiles showroom for around 2 hours 45 in mornings mon-fri so its nothing strenuous, just wiping prints off the displays and cleaning toilets, the other guy does the sweeping and mopping. I used to do an estate agents on a Friday evening but i had to quit at 20 weeks because carrying the hoover up 2 flights of stairs was exhausting and it was extremely warm in there 😫 guess my job in the showroom is perfect with me being pregnant as its so easy. Just depends where you work, some are straight forward and some require a lot more effort that's not gonna do you any favours when you are further along 😁

Exactly what I'm thinking! Before I was doing quite big houses, most had 3 floors so 2 sets of stairs and it used to kill me even when I wasn't pregnant! Then I usually had to scrub all skirting boards and frames, and windows and then mop everything. Weekly it was just too much especially with the long days, but I'm thinking maybe someone just wants a one off clean it won't be too hard. I am struggling now to get down and up again so god knows what I'll be like in a few weeks. Everyone expects so much round our way, I wouldn't be fussed if the cleaner didn't scrub the skirting boards but some can be proper picky! Today was my first day where I just didn't have anything to do, and I literally just sat crying all day I was bored out of my mind. I worked up until 34 weeks with #1 in a nursery and this time I just feel like I am just vegetating at home 😂
