Pelvic pain - baby dropping for labour?

I’ve had increasing pelvic pain on one side in particular. I’m 33 weeks pregnant and just read on “what to expect” that this can mean labour is 2-4 weeks off! Eek!! It freaks me out a bit as in my head I have ages to get ready as I am sure the baby will be late and need to be induced (based on that being the case when my mum had me). It’s a big baby (95th percentile).

The pain is more when I stand up and take steps. It’s at the top of my leg with a bit of a searing feeling (sorry, difficult to describe).

Interested to see what others have experienced with this. Was it another pregnancy pain....or did it come as the baby was dropping in prep for labour?

Not sure if it's a sign of the baby dropping. Please ask your midwife because she'll know more about the one-side only/down the top of your leg stuff and what that means.

But... that said... my first baby dropped about 8 weeks before labour and I had to have an induction. I read somewhere babies dropping only signal the onset of labour in second+ timers.
