Pre-eclampsia. What's going on?

Is have suspected pre eclampsia. My BP is usually about 90/60, but has risen to roughly 130/80. It's not massively high, but it's high for me. Midwife sent me on my way, told me I might have one eclampsia, wasn't told to come back for a check up etc. Just that she would see what it was at my next appointment (which is in 5 weeks). Spoke to MLU who are not happy and said I should be monitored every few days at least due to the big spike. I've ended up buying myself a BP machine and am taking my BP 3x a day as recommended. Once upon waking, once midday and once before I go to bed so I can get a trend.

It's bouncing from 139/93 to 124/83. If I had PE, would it be consistently high? Are there other reasons it could be high? I'm 33 weeks at the moment so still time for it to get higher. Are my plans for a water birth in MLU completely scuppered?

My midwife care had been absolutely appalling this pregnancy. I won't go in to it (unless you want to know!) but I don't trust my midwife one bit and am so out of the loop.

Can anyone offer ANY advice? Medical or from experience?

My BP was fine all the way through my pregnancy, on my due date had my last midwife app and my BP was high and I was sent straight down to the maternity ward and they decided to induce me there and then. If you are really worried please go down to a&e, better to be safe then sorry.

I had pre eclampsia and developed hellp syndrome. I had no symptoms except protein in my urine, blood pressure etc was normal. I had blood taken and sent home as they were sure I wouldn't have it, half an hour later I was called back in and induced there and then. My symptoms came on all of a sudden when I was took down the labour ward. I would go to maternity unit and ask for blood tests.

I didn't get my water birth as I had to be constantly monitoredSad

During first pregnancy it was however consistent at 70/50. Then shot up to 185/125!

With second pregnancy it was more than a little bumpy and swung from too low to too high. I was monitored in hospital every few days with growth scans and every time it seemed as though crisis was averted - it'd shoot up again. But I didn't develop PE with that pregnancy and carries through to ELCS scheduled date.

My kidneys are well and truly fucked now though and readings are still bumpy and unpredictable.

Thanks everyone. So what would a blood test do? Can they say yes you do or no you don't have PE?

the blood test was what confirmed I had it. They sent me home certain I was fine then then when they got the results I was called straight back in.
