Anomaly scan on Tuesday and scared!

Evening all,

I'm just looking for reassurance please!

This is my first pregnancy and i'll be 19+1 on Tuesday for my anomaly scan. I'm so worried that there is something wrong.

I had a scan at 8 weeks and 12 weeks which was all fine but since the second Trimester I haven't really felt pregnant. I've had "bubbles" feelings in my stomach but I don't know if that's the baby or just gas Blush

Sorry for waffling. I just need reassurance and couldn't find any statistics

I'm sure it will be fine. The bubble feeling might be the baby moving, I remember it feeling like fluttering.
Try and relax BrewCakeThanks

Why are you worried about there being something wrong? If it’s just to do with not feeling kicks then you really shouldn’t worry at all as many women don’t feel them until even 24/25 weeks with first pregnancy. Good luck!

Most symptoms dissapear around the 2nd trimester as the placenta takes over feeding the baby.

@Staffywaff - I have my scan next Tues too. I totally get that you're worried, I'm a worrier too and this is my second.

The odds are certainly in your favour and as harsh as it may sound, no amount of worrying will change what already is.

Try not to worry - I'm sure (🤞 like me) everything will be totally fine and baby will be having a good wriggle.

Also, you might well be feeling the baby already xx

Hello. Mine's on Tuesday too and I'm also anxious. I used to be a neonatal nurse and know most possible abnormalities, which doesn't help. But the odds are in our favour! Also, many conditions are treatable. There's a spectrum of possible outcomes. Best wishes to both of you having scans. X

Also I'm only just convincing myself those bubbles are baby!

Before my anomaly scan I was feeling the same, I felt really irrational and anxious for no reason at all. I do understand how your feeling, I can’t offer any advice only experience which was I went for the scan and everything was fine making me feel totally silly for being so worried over nothing.
Your hormones are all over the place it’s no wonder you’ve got a little anxious.
The feelings you are feeling may well be the start of baby moving :)
I’ve found that after that scan and the more I feel baby move I’m less worried.
The second trimester is the time to start to enjoy pregnancy. Try not to worry and please do check back in after your scan and let us know how you’ve got on xx

I also have an anomaly scan on Tuesday! I'm also nervous as I'm going to be monitored going forward for placental issues, so just hoping little one is okay in there and growing well.
