Any ideas on whether there are hormone changes 6 months PP? And/or whether an out of date pregnancy test still work?

I am EBF DC2 (who is almost 6mo) so don’t currently have periods. We have been careful (condoms every time and have also only done it a few times, maybe 4, since DC2’s arrival) but now I feel really queasy, have food aversions, sense of smell is through the roof etc. I suspect it’s just hormone levels playing up but should probably double check just in case. Any thoughts or experience?

FWIW a pregnancy would be a HUGE surprise but not really a problem. We’d like a DC3 at some point. I don’t currently drink (I choose not to while breastfeeding). I take a pregnancy and breastfeeding vitamin most days so will have had folic acid. So we are pretty relaxed.

I have a test in the cupboard (actually from when we were trying for DC1) but it is now a bit out of date. Went out of date in April. Do you think it would work? Otherwise I guess I will pop somewhere and pick one up tomorrow. Or any other thoughts?

No harm in trying the test I guess. April wasn’t a million years ago. I know I had similar aversions though and nausea for a couple of days at some point when my daughter was very little - probably around the 6-7 month mark - for no apparent reason. Left as randomly as it arrived.

Thank you - test looked negative (as expected really) so guess I shall wait and see if the symptoms subside!
