Just that really.
I'm a twin (none identical) I'm on the tall side, higher BMI, all extra causes of twins.
And it's just got me thinking what the early signs of twins are like.
Extra HCG, hormones and 2 babies instead of 1 is surely going to affect you more.

I am 32 weeks pregnant with twins - I was exhausted after doing anything, felt very sick, got very breathless after doing any form of exercise (walking up stairs was a killer) and I got a lot of stomach pains (like bad period pain) which ended up with us at the EPU at 9 weeks. They scanned me, told us it was twins then said that’s why I’d been feeling so rough! I think implantation pains can be worst. Hope that helps

serenmoon · 15/09/2018 21:34

I didn’t get any sickness at all and didn’t really feel any symptoms in the early weeks. I did have a big bleed though which is when they scanned me and found it was twins.

I'm a non identical twin, on the taller side with a higher than normal bmi and I didn't get much symptoms like morning sickness or tiredness when I was pregnant...and it was triplets SmileSmileSmile they are currently 12 weeks old and gurgling away in their bouncers! Everyone is different although extreme morning sickness can be a sign of multiples x

Very very sick, tired. Non identical twins are hereditary and passed through the female line Smile

My third pregnancy was twins, non identical, and I knew I wasn't 'just pregnant' straight away. I felt way further along when I was only 5 weeks in and had awful morning sickness. I also looked 9 months pregnant (if I'd been carrying one baby), when I was about 5 months. Weirdly I felt brilliant in the third trimester and had a super easy birth which isn't usually expected - I think this could of been due to it being my third pregnancy though.

I had a twin pregnancy where one twin didn't progress past 12 weeks and I just felt pregnant two days before my period was due. Did a test and it almost instantly showed as positive. Felt pretty sick too so it made sense when they told me it had initially been a twin pregnancy. I guess it was the higher HCG.

@chickenchip
That's petrified me! Three. I bet that was a shock!

I've just been experiencing things a little sooner than I did with my first pregnancy. But I was thinking it could be because it's my second pregnancy which is changing things.
I'm 7 weeks and I'm already uncomfortable sleeping in my front and I have the pressure below my diaphragm that I didn't get until my second trimester!

Sorry didn't mean to terrify you Blush I was in maternity clothes by 8 weeks but it was my first pregnancy. With your second pregnancy I think you show quicker too I believe. My pregnancy test also showed up immediately. Oooo I can't wait to hear how you get on!

MsHopey · 16/09/2018 11:17

That is pretty amazing!
I've got no morning sickness really. Which I did have at this point with my first, so I thought there wasn't much chance of twins. (Though people keep telling me because I'm a twin that it is more likely, which I know is true.)
It's just the other things that I'm finding quite weird. I know some could be bloating, but I bloat after a big meal anyways and it's never stopped me sleeping on my front. I don't know. Just thought I'd test the waters by asking.

No difference between my first single and second twin pregnancy except severe anaemia the second time which was awful and only resolved after iv iron.

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 16/09/2018 11:26

Less sick than I had been with my 2 previous pregnancies.

Lost less weight as a result in the first few months.

Didn’t gain much weight though - same as with my other 2 pregnancies. (Gave birth at 35 weeks and walked into hospital in my normal jeans.)

No more tired than I had been with the first two - in fact - probably more energy but that was likely due to being less sick/keeping more food down.

Nothing else was different at all until past about 15wks when I developed SPD - Much earlier than in previous pregnancy but again - not necessarily due to having twins, most likely due to the fact that I’d had it before.

dinosaurkisses · 16/09/2018 11:31

I’m a non-identical twin- my mum had dreadful morning sickness with us which was apparently the only give away. She was very slim but didn’t develop an early bump or anything.

I googled what my own chances of twins would be when I found out I was pregnant with dc2, and was nearly sick when I saw a few places quote 1 in 7!

MsHopey · 17/09/2018 13:38

I had an early scan today because I was bleeding.
Baby is fine and has a heartbeat! Yay!
But definitely only one baby in there!
😂 no twins for me!

I had an instant very strong line at 10dpo with twins. That should have been a warning sign but i thought it was normal. I was absolutely exhausted to the point of uselessness for most of the first trimester.

Congratulations!! Smile
