is that to be expected? was pretty sure my waters had gone today after a huge gush and beig left standing in a puddle but apparently not after a speculum exam. Still wearing a pad as feel like im losing water but its a bit of blood now. I guess thats to be expected?

I had one a couple of weeks ago at 32w and the blood looked like something out of horror film after. I was ok at the time it was as I was leaving the hosp it started. Clots and everything (tmi sorry). I was in a right state and was sure I was losing my baby but was assured by both midwife and doctor that it was normal. They told me the cervix is more sensitive in pregnancy. That said, if you're worried give your midwife a call x

Definitely call your midwife if you have any concerns, they will take you seriously.
To reassure you in the meantime, I've always bled a bit after any examination during pregnancy and definitely when they had to test for waters breaking, as pps said your cervix is very sensitive.

Thank you both. I assumed this was the case but with a history of bleeding in this pregnancy it just brought back a few memories.
