Hi all,
Wondered if anyone can help or give advice. I went to a birthday party today and had a cup of tea that tasted a bit funny but had lots of sugar in it. I was just over half way through when I checked with my husband and he said it tasted the milk gone off.
Am really anxious now I can get Listeria from a bit of gone off milk in the tea or another food poisoning. I have a fear of miscarriage as had so many and am now having panic attacks from it..

Doea anyone have experience of this or no if Listeria is from gone off milk?
Do I need to call midwife?
Many thanks in advance for any help to stop me worrying!

I'd think it would be ok, it sounds like you didn't have much either. If you do feel poorly may be mention it but I personally wouldn't worry too much. X

You could to put your mind at ease if it's going to stress you out.

You won’t get listeria from gone off milk, don’t worry. You will have drunk a very small amount if it was in a cup of tea so I think at the very worst you might get a slightly funny tummy.

The milk will have been pasteurised and the risk is with unpasteurised dairy. Saying that, it is incredibly rare to get listeria from unpasteurised dairy anyway. The cases of listeria in the UK this year have come from frozen sweetcorn, smoked salmon and some bacon products!

No expert but I'm also thinking the hot tea will have killed most potential germs too.

Not pleasant but highly unlikely to do more than make you feel a bit yuk!

I did the exact same thing when I was 10 weeks pregnant! I felt a bit sick and gassy for about 12 hours and then was fine. I'm now 15 weeks and both me and baby are fine Smile
