Maternity pads

What are the best maternity pads to buy? So far I've got a pack of 20 Tesco own brand and a pack of 10 Always maxi long pads with wings. Obviously I am going to need a lot more but unsure on what are the best as this is 1st baby. Also how many is enough to pack in hospital bag?

I guess it's partly personal preference, I found Sainsbury's to be the best (softest and only £1 a pack). I think 1 or 2 packs would be enough to see you through hospital to cover a short stay. I had to have an episiotomy so actually didn't wear any underwear at all for 2 days to let the stitches have air (the things they don't mention at antenatal classes!) 😂 Good luck OP! X

I had Morrison’s and Tesco’s own and much preferred Tesco’s one. I’d take 2 packs into hospital with you. Worse case, the midwifes will happily give you some more

I liked boots own ones they were quite cheap too. I was surprised how many I needed Shock

Boots and Mothercare with wings are great. I wore 2 at a time 😂 Be careful with sanitary towels. If you get any stitches they catch on them and are very nippy 😁

Definitely Boots and they are nearly always 3 for 2.

I used mothercare ones first time round and they were ok but not great, felt like I was wearing a nappy most of the time.
I got boots ones second time round and they were lovely, would definitely use again

Boots are good

BellMcEnd · 13/09/2018 14:19

Definitely the Boots one and agree with a pp that you need more than you think you will!

I used Boots and they were fab, got them on 3 for 2 👍🏻

Very absorbent and nice and cushioned for my sore undercarriage Grin
