This is my third pregnancy so you would think I would know this, but I really can't remember.

Both mine and dh employers need my MATB1 form, but I only get one. Should one of them get a photocopy?

Your employer needs the proper copy x

Thanks, so dh can take it and show them (and they can photocopy it or whatever) and then I get the original back for my employer?

Noooooo ... you photocopy and give du the copy.

It’s hard to get a second MATB1 if they lose it

I never got the original back from my employer (I suppose there is still time but as I finish work next week, I’m not holding my breath!) so it might be worth asking your midwife if you could have two copies if both need the original?

Kt2108 · 13/09/2018 12:55

@mumofmunchkin you photo copy x

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 13/09/2018 12:57

You photocopy yours and give the copy to your dh. They shouldn't need the original but your employer will.

Patienceofatoddler · 13/09/2018 12:58

My OH employer has never never an original that's for the woman.

In fact my OH employer never saw the MatB1 either time I am pretty sure.

The original one goes to your employer.

What everyone else said! Photocopy for partner, original for you.

AlexanderHamilton · 13/09/2018 15:41

There is no legal requirement for a father's employer to see the MATB1, let alone the original in order to get SPP.
