Ectopic?

I posted a few days ago because I got a faint bfp around 9 dpo then, at 12 dpo I got a positive on a digital. The next morning I woke up to some light bleeding; I panicked but it quickly became just light brown spotting/cm and then was gone completely by the next day.
I thought it must just have been implantion pain because the lines on my tests are still positive and are getting darker.
However for about 2 days now Ive been having a sort of dull, crampy feeling on the right side of my abdomen. Its mild and comes and goes. It's not the same as period pain; I've been having these kind of cramps too but I got them during my first pregnancy so not worried.
I didn't have bleeding or this right sided ache last time though. Could it be ectopic? My doctor said to keep an eye out for pain when I talked to her about the bleed. She said it was likely too early to see anything on a scan as I'm only 4 weeks pregnant. What should I do?

Cramps could be your body growing to make room for the baby. All normal and a lot of people experience it as part of their first few symptoms.
From what I hear an ectopic pregnancy is VERY painful and hurts more when the stomach is pressed and normally isn't found for a few weeks yet as I think the pain starts at the 7 week mark but not 100% on that.

That sounds positive; I hope you're right! Thanks for your reply x

I had really bad growing pains in the early stages of my pregnancy, it's like a stretching, pulling pain. Very sore x

Hi OP. In my first few weeks I had very very strong pains that took my breath away, and sometimes it was on one particular side. I spoke to my midwife and she wasn’t concerned and said it was growing pains. I also had some light spotting at 7 weeks and I kept getting a pain low down to the right. I went for an early scan and they couldn’t see anything wrong, but could see that I had ovulated from my right ovary and that could be some cause of it (I have no idea how they could tell it was my right ovary!).

I’m now 13 weeks and everything is progressing nicely. Your body is going through so much in the first few weeks, there can be a lot of stretching pains and it isn’t always in the middle. As a PP said (and my midwife reassured me the same) if it’s ectopic the pain would be excruciating and keeping you up at night. Fingers crossed for you, try not to worry too much xx

I too am someone who experienced one sided pain (sharp, dull etc) during the first few weeks after implantation. In both my pregnancies.
They weren’t ectopic and I’m now 25 weeks but when it comes to something like this, it’s better to be safe then sorry.
I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about but definitely get checked. For the sake of a 5 minute scan. X x x
