7 weeks and brown blood/dischare

Hi everyone! I found out that I was pregnant with my first baby like 2 weeks ago and I just turned 7 weeks today, however 2 days ago after I wiped at the loo I had brown discharge and it has carried on ever since. I googled it and it says it can happen between 6-10 weeks when the placenta is forming but me being an overthinker i can't stop worrying as I keep thinking any blood during pregnancy is bad so has anyone got any reassurance?

My first midwife booking appointment is next Tuesday so I was just going to wait until then to tell her instead of going to hospital as I have no severe pain and the blood isn't red

I had spotting throughout my whole first trimester with DS. Sometimes pink, sometimes brown. I mentioned it to my midwife and she wasn't concerned.
6 And a half weeks pregnant now and getting spotting again, but no cramps and not a lot of blood.
I'll let my midwife know at my booking in appointment next week, but I don't think she'll be that interested again.

I had brown discharge for about 48 hours with this pregnancy, around the same time as you. My GP wouldn't send me for a scan, he said it was totally normal as long as there was no pain. I did pay for a private scan at 7+4 and saw the heartbeat. Saw my midwife a couple of weeks later and she was totally unphased, although it does go down as a 'risk factor' on the booking form.

IIRC there is a 50/50 chance of discharge being bad news, but if you've had no pain then your midwife will probably say the same as my GP. Nothing you can do really except pay for a scan if you feel it would help, although I'd wait until closer to 8 weeks when there's a good chance of seeing a heartbeat.

I had spotting in my last three pregnancies and had early scans as I had miscarried previously . The midwifes told me each time that it was probably just implanting bleeds and I’m happy to say that all three pregnancies progressed very well and it was just a blip. As long as there is no pain I wouldn’t be to worried.

yeah I’ve been to my booking appointment today and told them about it and they were not phased at all, still concerned as it’s still happening but i’ve got no pain..i’m 8 weeks today and for the first time my belly feels different like i can actually feel a bump!

Hmm.... whilst I'm glad you've all had positive outcomes and I hope this applies to OP, this was my first and only sign of miscarriage. :( So I think you should insist on being seen.

I’m 6 weeks and have also had spotting. When I called my GP to tell them they referred me to the early pregnancy unit for a scan. I’m glad I had it as everything was fine. I’m booked in for another one next week. I’m nervous about it but still glad it’s being investigated

just an update my blood turned a little red today, not heavy, but i freaked out and now i’m at the hospital waiting. they’ve taken my bloods and left a cannula in my vein, waiting to see a gynaecologist Confused

Hi there, hope it all works out for you. I’m in a similar position. Had a very slight spot of red blood on Monday but had my planned 7 week scan yesterday (had 3 recurrent miscarriages - all before a heartbeat) and much to my surprise saw the heartbeat, cervix was closed and all looked good. However, this morning there’s more red spotting and since then had brown discharge. No pain though but over the past week my symptoms have got less.
Hoping for another scan in a couple of days to put my mind at rest.
X

Letting us know how it goes tomorrow OP x

I have just been for my scan and my little bean is doing perfectly fine and the little heart is beating, turns out i’m 7 weeks and 4 days not 8 weeks but that’s okay as long as the baby is fineSmile thank you everyone who commented and i hope everything is fine for everyone too, i’m still slightly bleeding/spotting but they couldn’t detect anything on the ultrasound so just assumed it’s implantation bleeding which can occur until 12 weeks!!
