I'm VERY early in pregnancy, not yet 5 weeks. I'd love a bath, my back is killing me. I take them pretty cool, DH says freezing. I had some brown spotting but nothing major. Would it be safe? What do people think?

Yes you can have baths at any stage of pregnancy.

Absolutely fine, add bubbles and enjoy!

Check what it says about water temperature, as long as it isn't too hot, enjoy!

Yeah it's not the bath that's the problem it's body temperature that you have to be careful with so hot tubs and hot baths are a no. Can't remember exact reason but a warm bath is fine x

I think I knew all this from last time but just didn't trust myself and needed reassurance, if that makes sense. I nearly drove myself mad worrying and it looks like I might be going the same way this time. I need to chill out.

Course you can have baths and they certainly don't have to be cold ones. I loved my bath when I was pregnant, so relaxing.

Sandstormbrewing · 12/09/2018 17:12

It's fine. The difference is between a hot bath and a jacuzzi is that a jacuzzi maintains a constant temperature, where as a bath is constantly cooling down, so you may get in it at 40 degrees however it'll quickly fall to below 37.

The risk is to you from a drop in blood pressure and then fainting. There is minimal risk to the baby.

Cheers. Just had a lovely soak.
