Do baby's movements change throughout pregnancy?

I've reached 32 weeks and am finding movements have changed a bit. I'm not sure why, they just feel different. Less jabby, and more subtle. It's unsettling to say the least.

Anyone find their baby's movements changed throughout pregnancy? Is this normal?

I found as the baby got bigger I didn't feel as many jabs or kicks but more 'swishy' movements like the baby physically turning and moving? However if I was you I'd definitely ring the maternity assessment unit/midwife just to check all is well :)

Yes, I found this with my DS, he always would wake at 10am and have a little jig, then it changed to something else. The type of movements also change as they run out of space. I did panic a few times, but he was fine (he's almost 2 now!).
However if you are worried at all then make sure you get yourself checked out.

It's so unsettling. I feel silly calling the midwife just for a change in movements because they are still strong and definitely there. Completely agree with the swishy feeling though.

So ready for baby to arrive!

Your midwife would rather you called, I promise!

My midwife is the most miserable person I've ever met! It's like she sees right through you when you're talking...

Give them a call, DDs movements changed at 31 weeks, she failed many ctgs and turned out she stopped growing. Was delivered at 34 weeks following very close monitoring! I dread to think what would have happened if we hadn’t reported it 🙈

Yes definitely different! But still prominent I would say. Rather than the jabbing and kicking more of a stomach churning feeling where I reckon it's full limbs being pushed against or it rolling over completely. 31 weeks here so I'd imagine it to be similar ?

Yes definitely different. At 36 weeks I hardly ever feel ‘kicks’. More full body movements, bum sticking out of my belly, wriggles, jabs in my ribs.

I would check with your midwife that your baby is OK as my baby's movements became less subtle as she grow bigger.

They became more painful particularly when she turned around e.g. from head up to head down, from right to left. She also use to whack where my bladder was with her arms when I was walking. In addition there were the full body movements of lower limbs and bum being stuck out.

The advice is to call the midwife for a change in movements not just reduction. I’d call.
