Hi Ladies

Just a quick question on 20 weeks scans? When did you have your scan and how far along were you?

This might seem a daft question but my "20 week" scan isn't until the 2nd Nov when i am 21 weeks and 6 days i feel this is a good bit after 20 weeks.

Should i call the hospital and see if I can get it earlier?

This could be completely normal to have it that late but as its my first pregnancy i am pretty clueless

Thanks
Sara

Mine was at 19+3 and all was fine Smile

Mine works out at 21 weeks and 1 day. I think it's ok to be a week or 2 out as the 12 week one can be between 12 and 14 weeks.

I got pregnant the end of November. My first scan was the 27th of March. My second was the 16th of April. It didn't worry me at all.

I had my scan at 19+5, they couldn't see everything they wanted to in detail so I went back at 21+2 when baby was bigger. It's fairly common apparently.

I had mine about 21 weeks but they couldn't get all measurements so had to go back about a week later. I think it has to be done by 24 weeks.

Thanks ladies just wondered with it most commonly being known as 20 week scan

I will just stick with my normal date 2nd nov at 21 weeks 6 days x

I was 22 weeks. The reason it has to be done before 24 is due to the medical termination cut-off limit in the very unlikely tragic chance they discover an anomaly. Biologically it doesn't make a difference if done later. They can actually see more if it's after 20 weeks since the baby is larger and all organs more mature!
