Hi, I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant, at 6.5 weeks I had painful cramps and a bleed- scan showed a healthy heartbeat and embryo was measuring fine. For the past 4 days when I wipe after #1 I am seeing a dark brown bleed/ discharge almost every time. No clots or tissue and sometimes looks like coffee grounds. I have no cramps or pains. I am absolutely petrified as this is my first child. I rang local EPU and they've booked me in for another scan in 2 days time but I am overcome with anxiety and worry. Has anyone experienced the same? I would appreciate hearing happy endings and also sad endings to prepare myself if this is a loss. Thanks for reading. Beth x

You will find a mixture of outcomes with those symptoms, for me it was bad news, but there are others who've had this and all is well with baby. I'm currently 19 weeks pregnant after miscarriage in Feb. Best wishes to you, I hope it's all okay. x

I had this with DS number 1. Every time I was scanned he was fine with healthy heartbeat.
I also had a gushing bleed at 15 weeks, again he was happily bobbing about.

With second baby I bled almost the whole way through, she's fine too.

Same here, I had mixed outcomes. Two years ago I had brown bleeding that turned red after 3 days (with cramps) and ended in mc. This pregnancy I had the same brown bleeding, with "coffee grounds" at random times (12, 15, 16, 17 weeks). Doctors couldn't find a reason for it, only that it didn't seem to be coming from the uterus and the baby was totally fine. They didn't seem concerned at all about brown blood which they say is old.

Thankyou all for your replies. And also sorry about your losses. Seems like it's 50/50. These are going to be the longest 2 days ever! Hate this waiting game. X

Possibly. When I went to the hospital with those symptoms, I was told it was 50/50. However, I hadn’t seen a heartbeat at that point. The chances go down dramatically after seeing a heartbeat. One doctor told me 1/20. 💐

I had spotting throughout my whole first trimester on and off.
I told my midwife and she wasn't concerned at all, did when send me for a scan or anything.
DS is now 13mo.
I'm 6 and a half weeks pregnant and have already had implantation bleeding and a bit of spotting, I think it might just be normal for me, but i will mention it to my midwife in my booking in appointment.

Thankyou everyone. My scan was perfect baby measuring right on target and a healthy heartbeat. I can breathe now! ❤️Xx
