My sister said I'm not allowed as the paint fumes could cause harm but my mum said that I definitely can?
We've just bought a house and every single room need a stripped and painted am I able to do this?

I am 18 weeks and have been doing some light filling and sanding (covering my face) and painting with water based emulsion.
The advise I read was that most paint nowadays is low VOC and not like the old stuff but to be sensible and keep the room ventilated, take lots of breaks, don't be on high ladders etc.
Gloss and varnish is best avoided and so is stripping old paint which could contain lead and other nasties. I also read to try and and wait until past the first trimester if you can.

I’m 25 weeks and currently in the process of decorating 4 bedrooms!
Water based paints are fine, just keep the area ventilated and be careful up ladders!

Well ventilated and it’s fine!!! Xx

As above - be careful - however i have been upladders and standing on the edge of a bath painting and decorating - just be sensible and not silly!

Why would you not? Its not like you're going to be sat with your head in a plastic bag sniffing solvents....
I did everything I possibly could during pregnancy, and still am. Including heavy lifting, pushing, intense exercise and serious cleaning and decorating and dd is just fine
