I kind of know the answer already, but i guess im looking for a little straw to hold on to.

I've had my DS a long time ago, then I had 4 early mc's (all before 6 weeks)
I've gone on to have a healthy DD in 2017 with the help of medication (steroids and progesterone mainly).

Now I just found out last Friday I am pregnant again. I was only 3+3 or 10dpo then but felt so incredibly ill and had one of those Poundland tests lying at home.
The 2nd line showed up immediately and not incredibly dark but darker that I would have expected at only 10dpo.
I've been feeling so ill over the weekend, but each day a bit less ill.
I tested again yesterday at 12dpo (or 3+5) and the line was much fainter, hoping it was a test with little dye in it, I tested again late at night and that one was even lighter.
Overnight my symptoms (nausea mainly and just overal malaise) have pretty much dissapeared and I did another test which first seemed negative but then after a minute or 2 became very faintly positive.

Anyone have experience with this?
I know in my head that it's over and coming to an end, but my heart doesn't want to accept it yet. Sad

Oh yea, I also did a CB yesterday and it says 2-3 weeks. But I was still having symptoms then..

I don't know how to insert the picture from my phone. Does anyone have any tips?

Can I hear your stories ladies? Xx

Sorry to hear about the early losses.

Fading lines are generally not a good thing, especially with a history of miscarriage. Are you using the same brand of tests, or are you using internet cheapies?

On the plus side, 2-3 on a clearblue sounds good. I think that means your HCG is over 200 which is high for 12dpo! 1-2 would be under 200.

If you were using internet cheapies I'd try not to read into it too much. Also, testing so close together can give inconsistent results. It takes a while for HCG to build and urine concentration can vary from sample to sample.

One last thing to consider. Tests get darker when they have been lying around for a day.....so you can't directly compare yesterday's test with today's.

It could go either way. Keeping everything crossed for you!!

@moonmary I just had a similar issue. I am only 5 weeks now from having my early mc. I had watched the hormones go down to nothing then tested positive then literally next day faint and fainter and then nothing, absolutely soul destroying. Not to say yours is the same but my period or bleed from chemical (I really have no idea) came on in the next couple days after the fainter line. Here's the thing a year ago I wouldn't of done a test so early, only now that I'm ttc. But what I'm saying is early pregnancy loss is not uncommon I wish it was and if I hadn't of tested I wouldn't of thought I was and wouldn't of tested would of considered this my period.

What I did (the clutching at straws moment I had...just in case) do a test next morning as diluted urine can affect it. I have no idea how you get a positive test when you're not pregnant but maybe implantation happened you get the positive then something fails and that's why it then shows up as faint then negative. For myself and sounds like you it turned around so quickly that's all o can think

Hi @talkwhilstyouwalk thank you for replying.

They have been Poundland cheapies and you're right, as they've dried up, they do seem a bit more dark, even this morning's one (although nothing like the first one and lighter than yesterday's ones).

And of course I've done another CB test this morning. I told myself I was going to wait a couple of days, but I have zero restraint when it comes to available sticks I can pee on Blush. It still says 2-3 weeks, but if my HCG would be rising, it would very unlikely have risen enough to display 3+ and if it would be dropping, it wouldn't have dropped enough to display 1-2 weeks so fast, so I've done myself no favours here.

I am just going to have to wait this one out I know. But realistically I will buy another 3 pack from Poundland and drive myself a bit more mad than I already am.

xx

That's great news!! I feel positive for you now!!

My advice, step away from the Poundland tests and buy a first response! My guess is that you'll see a lovely dark line!!

Hi @ragingmama84 I am so sorry to hear about your m/c. No matter how early, it is an awful thing to go through, especially when you're seeing the tests get fainter. I am going to have to wait it out and expect bleeding in a few days. But I will keep on doing the same cheapies in the meantime.

I know how the early testing are not helping us keep our sanity, like you said: otherwise it would have just been considered a period and would have been a whole lot less heartbreaking.
I use an app to track my cycle and my phone was broken so I wasn't sure when my AF was due. If I would have had my phone, and known i was only 12dpo I would probably not have tested so early.

xx

@talkwhilstyouwalk (LOVING your username btw) I am going to buy a first response test, I hadn't thought of that. Keep your fingers crossed for me please. I will keep you posted xx

Hi!

I did the first response and it looks good, not quite, but almost as dark as control line. Also I did another Poundland cheapie and this is also darker now.

I have 2 more cheapies left which I will most likely use tomorrow and day after, but for now my mind is at ease and I guess the cheapies are just good for detecting HCG, not for darkening of lines.

I figured out how to upload picture but as a new user I'm not allowed yet.

Thank you for your support! Xx

Just a little update for anyone ever having the same question.

I did miscarry unfortunately, but I did at one point, before I miscarried put 2 sticks in the same pee and one was much darker than the other, so they are really not reliable to track progress.

Sorry to hear that OP, hope you're ok. Miscarriages are shit. Thanks

moonmary · 23/09/2018 19:11

Thank you so much @Paradyning Halo

@moonmary hi I never saw the notification on this. So sorry you miscarried, it's always hard, hideous and I know lame suffer with this but I'm sorry the women have to carry 90% of the horror and hormones lingering around, reminding us. Especially when your body is meant to be yours so it wouldn't betray you would it! Sadly we know it will and does.

My update was it was definitely an extremely early mc, I had spotting and faint lines then bleeding came. But somehow this month just one month from that I am pregnant and I have watched the frer go from faint to strong lines and managed to confirm it on clear blue which for me never show the early days of finding out. So hopefully this one will stick. I've gone from never having a mc and thinking they were uncommon...sadly not and then having one at 8 weeks and one probably at 2 weeks. So let's hope three is the lucky number an I neve have to experience one again
