I messaged on here last week as was suffering with bad constipation last Tuesday, was on loo for over an hour in pain not being able to physically stop myself from pushing. I got bad abdominal pains also abs panicked that it wud stress the baby. After posting on here I got some advice to try lactulose so I went out and got some I’ve been taking it since weds and thought I was ok then today I went to loo this eve and had same thing happen where I was on loo for over an hour and half in awful pain with bad tummy pains too and in order to control them I had to breath really heavily as if in labour, was awful, I looked in the mirror to see what was going on and again even with my slightly pushing my muscles in bum would not work so I was just stuck not being able to move, my husband didn’t really know what to do and we almost called doctors. Eventually after an hour and half and me pushing movement happened and i was relieved but I really can’t go through that every time I need a number 2, I really don’t know what to do, it scares me, i think I must go back docs and tell them and see if I can try something else as I really don’t want to be in that pain for the next 9 weeks, made me feel really awful tonite. I’m just glad it hasn’t happened in work as I would be so embarrassed! I’ve heard of movicol so might suggest this to the doctor.

You poor thing. After I had an emcs I was very constipated from the tablets I had to take afterwards. It was agony. In the end I took my friends grandmother's advice (after lots of other options not helping at all!) She told me to make a mug of boiling water and drink it as hot as I could bear as quickly as I could. To put it politely it cleared out everything and is now my go to method! Obviously see your dr/midwife but it's definitely worth a try, good luck and hope you're feeling better soon.
