Caffeine when pregnant

So I used to be addicted to green tea tablets which we are total of 400mg of caffeine a day in two tablets, when I found out I was pregnant I cut down to one tablet which was 200mg as that's the max your allowed when pregnant! After I was 20 weeks pregnant I come off then completely but I still have an energy drink around every other day they have around 100mg caffeine and I'm really worried my baby will be addicted to caffeine :/ I'm now 34 weeks and have completely stopped all caffeine do you think baby will be on ?

Hi OP
You'll probably find that a lot of people on here panic about any kind of caffeine and will tell you they've had none.
I have no idea about these tablets or what else is in them, but I do know that you have stuck to, or below, the recommended about of caffeine for pregnancy.
When I used to work around mums and babies I only saw one genuinely addicted to caffeine. The woman was having (on average) 12 energy drinks per day plus other caffeine on top of that.
Please don't worry yourself ❤️

Sounds like you’ve stayed under the limit. I’m very anxious so had no caffeine at all.

I am a diet coke addict, gave it up in the first trimester as I had a total aversion but have been drinking it since about 12 weeks (am now 28 weeks). I have a challenging job that includes night shifts and just couldn’t manage without!

There is no evidence that 200mg a day or less causes any harm to the baby so as long you’re not exceeding this I really wouldn’t worry.
