I think it can be difficult for scans to see anything at 6 weeks. My doctor booked me in for a 6-week scan and then at the same time booked me in for an 8-week scan “in case it was inconclusive”. I wouldn’t necessarily worry yet. What did the nurse say? Do you have a follow up with your GP?

It can be quite difficult to see anything before 7/8 weeks sometimes. I was in the exact same situation, went for a scan at 6 weeks and all they say was a gestational sac. I was so worried, especially as I'd previously had a miscarriage.

I went back just over a week later and they saw a tiny blob with a heartbeat. I'm know 14 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby Smile

A transabdominal scan at 6 weeks won't show much. Ask for a transvaginal scan before 12 weeks which shows more detail. At 6 weeks everything is still tucked in your pelvis, which the ultrasound waves can't travel through. Also if you had a not very full bladder, that would allow less detail to be seen.

Sometimes these early reassurance scans are anything but!

You are very right I went back one week later for transviginal ultrasound,,, boom yolk sac and a baby’s heatbeat
