I’m asking for my sister as she is young and worried
Basically she is wondering, her period is usually 6 days long and her total cycle is 33 days on average, and she had it 29th of July to 3rd of August, on the 2nd of August she had the Nexplanon implant (day 5 of AF)!
She had sex on the 29th of July (on her period) and then again on the 7th August, 5 days after implant (should be safe as implant was inserted on day 5). Both times she used a condom.
So Basically she feels bloated and her questions are,
Is she likely to get pregnant on her period as her cycle is so long and regular, (sometimes it’s risky if your cycle is short)?
Also would she be protected from the implant 5 days after insertion?
Also it wasn’t in fertile period, so I’m trying to convince her!!!
I really want to show her it’s okay!
Thanks for any advice x

highly unlikely - pee on a stick if shes in doubt!

The implant can be fitted up to and on day 5 of a period and work immediately.
It is highly unlikely that she is pregnant.
Her bloating symptoms are likely symptoms related to the increase in her progesterone hormone from the implant. This should settle with time.
Always do a pregnancy test if in doubt and for reassurance.

Only way to know is to POAS but highly unlikely unless the info isn't 100% accurate.

The implant can mimic pregnancy symptoms. Only way to know for sure is a do a test, but I would say highly unlikely x

crl200 · 09/09/2018 14:26

@Sparkley this has nothing to do with me, I’m trying to find answers for my sister

So you have multiple posts from yourself about pregnancy identical but this time it's not for you?

Come off it

MynameisJune · 09/09/2018 15:09

You’ve done 6 hpt’s and a urine test at the GP and they were all negative. Your sister —you— are not pregnant

TinyMarie · 09/09/2018 15:10

I would pay for a private scan if I were you. It would be £50 well spent so you can finally believe that you are not pregnant. Maybe don't have sex again until you've dealt with what is quite obvious to everyone else, a severe anxiety problem.

Sunshinegirl82 · 09/09/2018 17:40

Are you also posting under a different name? Please speak to your doctor about your anxiety. This level of obsession is not normal, you are not thinking clearly.

SparklyMagpie · 09/09/2018 20:10

Actually think the idea of you getting a private scan will help, that way you'll know for sure that you aren't
