Hi guys, im around 7 weeks pregnant and really struggling with nausea and sickness. Its so awful as soon as i wake up in the morning it starts, try and force myself back to sleep! Also, had no appetite at all I have been put off some foods. Is this normal and can i have anything to help it stop??

Thanks x

OP, I feel your pain, I was the same twice, from 6 weeks to six months.

I was diagnosed with Hyperemesis gravidarum and was given some tablets ( can't remember the name) which I took when I needed to be up and about.

Google hyperemesis gravidarum, there's lots of advice.

Other than that, some people swear by sea band acupressure bands.

Good luck x

Oh I remember that feeling vividly - both times from about 5 weeks to 13ish weeks. No actual sickness though (the term morning sickness ridiculously understates the reality of trimester one)

With DC1 I lived on potato throughout the first trimester. With DC2 I mostly ate potato but also forced myself to eat a few other bits that I hadn't gone off completely. Pom bears were weirdly ok.

When you find something you can stomach try and have it little and often. I'm sorry you feel so rotten - it will pass eventually

You poor thing, this really is an awful time. I remember crying to my midwife saying I can’t go on! But it was improving within a couple of weeks and was pretty much gone soon after, so hopefully u won’t suffer for too long. I really got on with del monte pure orange lollies. I really feel for you but try and stay strong xx

As awful as it is, eat something as soon as you wake up. I’ve found that it does help, I can only tolerate very small portions. I feel your pain, I’m 11+3 and feel worse each day at the mo. I live in hope that it will go soon!

I felt very similar and even cried to the pharmacist because I felt so sick. Symptoms started to ease up by 8 - 9 weeks and now the nausea has almost completely gone (9 +4) Only strong smells that turn my stomach! Good luck xx
