Especially moody at 14 weeks could this be a girl

Hi I’m pregnant with my third other two were boys. I was wondering if any one on Mn has had significantly different moods between pregnancies and whether there is a difference between being pregnant with a girl or boy.
I’m intrigued to know the sex but baby was unplanned so whatever will be will be I wasn’t trying for a girl or boy.
I just want to hear others experience to work out whether I’m just an impatient mega bitch because I have 2 young children this time or whether I can blame it on hormones. TIA

I knew this would be because you had multiple children of all the same sex.

You can't try for a sex. It's biological chance. Nothing more.

Sounds like you are looking for signs it could be a girl. Concentrate on a healthy baby or your going to be disappointed if it's a boy.

Dandelionrarrrr · 07/09/2018 17:24

Clearly you didn’t read my post. I said what will be will be. Or maybe I didn’t make that clear enough. I said I wanted an answer to why I was moody.
I’m concentrating fine on my baby being healthy. If anything my life would be easier if I don’t have a girl as I have a loft full of clothes suitable. So thanks for the lack of input

A close relative has had 4 children; 2 boys and 2 girls. She swears that with the boys she feels very chilled, no sickness and wanted to eat crisps or cheese all day. With the girls she had horrendous sickness, felt really moody and the only food she could keep down was fruit. So maybe it could be a girl this time... if you’re eager to find out you can probably get a private scan soon!

brokenharbour · 07/09/2018 17:36

I have a girl but had no sickness, great chilled out pregnancy. This time I've been sick as a dog, aches and pains, no energy...I think it's a girl too but we'll see next week. In which case I will know the symptom spotting it's all rubbish!

lifechangesforever · 07/09/2018 17:39

I have a girl, no sickness, no moodiness - no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever actually, didn't have a clue until period didn't come and I experienced nothing untoward until further into pregnancy and I had the swelling and SPD.

I honestly don't think that sex determines any symptoms over any others.

Holidayshopping · 07/09/2018 17:40

Errrr-50/50, I’d say! Do you have two boys by any chance?

SoyDora · 07/09/2018 17:41

I’m not sure whether the presence or absence of a penis can affect your mood!
I have two girls, and am pregnant with a boy. I reckon I’ve been equally as moody with all 3 🤷🏻‍♀️

You don't seem moody at all ..Smile

Dandelionrarrrr · 07/09/2018 17:50

@soydora not directing that at you. I haven’t been moody the other two times which is why I was particularly curious whether it was physical changes to hormone levels or whether it was external changes like this time dealing with being pregnant whilst juggling being a parent.

Maybe moodiness is kore due to the extra responsibility you already have with to littlies?

With my older girls I was always cheerful and happy. With my youngest I was utterly knackered and sleepy all the time (all girls).

I have actually read somewhere that the probability of having a third boy if you have two is slightly higher.

Will you find out at your 20week scan?

I actually find the first trimester quite hard so probably could be that you’re physically exchausted and it’s translating as moodiness?

Wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy.

User46942 · 07/09/2018 18:01

My last pregnancy was v different. Everyone said it must be a girl. I thought it must be ( it wasn’t wishful thinking as I didn’t care). I was exhausted and huge and couldn’t stop eating . But nope another boy.

SandunesAndRainclouds · 07/09/2018 18:03

I have 4 girls and each pregnancy was very different!

Dandelionrarrrr · 07/09/2018 18:10

@fuzzywuzzy thanks for your reply (sorry for being so moody 😔). I think what you read makes sense from the trends in families I know. I will find out, mainly because my DS1 is, for some reason, hoping for a girl. I think he is just desperate that the next one will share no resemblance to his annoying little brother. So I’d like to prepare him in advance rather than deal with the disappointment on top of all the changes that will occur from bringing a new born home. I think it will be a boy. I’ve always been fortunate with pregnancies and had symptomless pregnancies.
I kind of wish I didn’t start this thread now, I think I’m just tired like you say!

I had 2 DS and have just had my third child. Pregnancys all the same, craving so much salt and Ice cold drinks. I was convinced it was another boy.

It really didn't matter as long as baby was healthy.

I'm currently cuddling a 3 week old baby girl.

Good luck with the pregnancy but for me there was no difference.

gamerchick · 07/09/2018 18:13

Youre a bit moody? Never would have guessed Grin

It's probably because you have 2 on the go already that you're feeling a bit extra grumpy OP. Good luck in your pregnancy.

grouchymamabear · 07/09/2018 18:15

Maybe... Although I was moody pretty much throughout and had a boy. I threw hissy fits about everything.

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 07/09/2018 18:16

I have many ds's but actually when I was pregnant with dd's I really was a bitch!
So ime you may have a fair point.

PotteringAlong · 07/09/2018 18:18

3 very different pregnancies here; 3 boys.

fuzzywuzzy · 07/09/2018 18:19

I reckon if you can’t be moody during pregnancy when can you be?

I’m utterly exhausted this pregnancy too, and thoroughly stressed that I can’t feel the baby moving about yet when I honestly could with my other pregnancies at this stage.

Pregnancy is so stressful being moody is fine.

Btw your ds sounds so cute, my friends youngest wants a baby sister too. She told him no chance 😆

DownstairsMixUp · 07/09/2018 18:26

The baby can't affect your moods, boy or girl unfortunately so I doubt anyone can say it's a girl. My pregnancies were completely different but both boys.

Dandelionrarrrr · 07/09/2018 18:26

Thanks ladies for broadening my perspective. Exactly what I was looking for 😊. I really like hearing about other people’s pregnancies not many of my friends have had children so I don’t get to share with them.
@fuzzywuzzy. How far along are you?
Have you checked where your placenta is lying whether it’s anterior or posterior. Anterior it is more cushioned so you may not feel it as much.

mumofmunchkin · 07/09/2018 18:50

My last two pregnancies were almost identical, this one is completely different in terms of symptoms. Three boys!

fuzzywuzzy · 07/09/2018 19:01

I don’t know yet where the placenta is they didn’t tell me st 12 week scan. I’ve got my 20 week scan next week and I’ll find out then.

I actually tearfully called my midwife last week convinced something was wrong as I couldn’t yet feel baby. She was so nice to the crazy hysterical pregnant lady on the phone who was taking up her precious time! I’m an utter basket case this pregnancy.

I do to be fair lose a little perspective when pregnant. Poor DP, last pregnancy I dreamed he had cheated on me, and altho I knew it was a dream I was so awful to him... then I finally told him why and from then on he kept asking if he’d done anything he needed to apologise for in my dreams! 😆 we still joke about it (altho at the time I was so irrationally hurt and upset with him!)

Dreamingofkfc · 07/09/2018 19:34

I have three boys. When I was pregnant with my youngest I was soooo tired and grumpy, and my first boy kept saying it was a girl....got scanned at 16 weeks and very obvious boy was there!
